TVLINE | Also on the list of “wows” from the finale is the tender “goodbye” between Damon and Elena. What made now the right time to explore this relationship? And what does it mean moving forward?
It felt very much that it was earned for Damon to finally get some kind of acceptance and compassion and reciprocation to the feelings he’s made very clear. He needed it, and Elena (Nina Dobrev) needed to give it to him. She obviously cares about him in a lot of ways, and that’s going to be a big struggle for her next year — for all three of them, actually. What did that moment between them mean? How do they recover from it with Stefan? And where do those relationships lead?———-
Now I understand why Damon needed Elena’s compassion, acceptance, etc. You’ve spent the whole season showing me what Damon needs. I don’t understand why Elena needed to give it to him. Maybe I’d understand why Elena needed to do it if you would let her speak, truly speak about her feelings, every once in a while instead of only when she went to that mountain top.
Does JP realize that in prioritizing what Damon needs and deserves over what Elena needs and deserves, she had Elena saying she likes Damon just the way he is, i.e. as the guy willing to let her best friend die, the guy who killed her brother, the guy who forced his blood into her mouth, the guy who doesn’t respect her decisions or her thoughts, etc.? How many times has JP and her crew written Elena saying, “No. No Damon, please stop?” They did it this very episode, and these same people turn around and write her saying she loves him just the way he is, i.e. as the guy who will do that to her when he feels like it. They write Damon as the douche who thinks no means yes, and they write Elena as being completely okay with that.
In the long run, Elena is just a tool/blank slate for Damon to express himself (however he feels like), and get redeemed/be happy. That’s why even though I will roll my eyes at Elena going the extra mile for Damon while she barely does the same for her loved ones, and I’ll talk about how passive she was this episode even though she spent the most time running out of all the characters, I won’t forget that she doesn’t exist in a vacuum. The producers write her like this, and they do it because JP (KW barely talks) is more interested in giving Damon what he deserves and earned than in telling Elena’s story and letting her exist as a well-rounded character with real emotions and feelings that lasts. I always talk about how Elena has a short-term memory, but really Elena’s anger lasts so short so that Damon doesn’t have to suffer (i.e. squint his eyes at us) for too long. Look at how Elena said she needed time to get pass what Damon need to her, but then Damon was dying and Damon needed closure, so JP had Elena feel guilty about her very justified anger and reluctance in order for Damon to have peace. Wtf?
This is why even though I bitch about Bonnie’s screen time, I’m glad that she’s not the writers’ favorite. The writers’ favorite girls get to have friendships/get close with Damon, and Damon is always top priority in those relationships. So Elena can’t stay mad at Damon, and Caroline only pushes Damon down and then he’s in her bedroom, he’s tried to kill her twice, he tells her who she can and can’t be friends with, she’s afraid of what he thinks (when she was scared of him finding out that she was defying him by being friends with Tyler), etc. The producers don’t care about trying to get Fandom to love Bonnie, thank God, like they do Elena or Caroline, and they don’t care to sell her as their golden girl, so Bonnie got to get mad and stay mad/cold for as long as she wanted. They can write Damon saying he’ll give Bonnie a nice eulogy for as long as they want. What’s more important to me is that they let Bonnie’s feelings develop based on how she feels and not how Damon feels, as long as Bonnie will only go through the motions of attempting to save Damon’s life only to go watch a movie afterwards with her best friend and boyfriend while she waits for word of Damon’s death.

jeremyspenis asked: i love this blog so much <3 it saddens me i don't get any updates from you on my dash though :( not saying you don't post cause i can see clearly that you do but i never see them :(
Thanks! <3 i should update more than i do… i probably will after tonight’s finale. i have a feeling it will be full of damon fail.
shannonlovesmusic asked: LOL what else fails with TVD? How Bonnie is willing to die to save her best friend? How Jeremy was trying to figure out what to do when his girlfriend was going to die to save his sister? Or how about how amazing he was after Jenna died and was there to make Elena feel better? Or Caroline always doing the best thing ever and being friends with a werewolf even though it might hurt her and not wanting to give up on Matt? Or Stefan being willing to die to save Elena's aunt because he knows how much she means to her? Everyone else on the show is pretty much bad ass. Even with Katherine she doesn't pretend like she's a hero. She owns up to what she is. damon has an obsession with elena. That's it. That is like the creepy men wout there who stalk girls saying they love them. Maybe they do but they have no idea what love really is.
YES YES YES! A MILLION TIMES YES! :)
Anonymous asked: I think you should rename this blog "Damon Salvatore Fail" because all of your posts are about how much you hate him. There are no comments about any of the other characters except him. At least be accurate.
I can’t help it if Damon is the worst part of TVD and my attention goes straight to him. If he wasn’t so horrible maybe then I could focus on the other shit, but as for now his fail overshadows the rest. :)
when damon starts helping (saving) people for the sake of saving them
and not just because elena wants him to or doesn’t want them to die or as long as he’s not saving them to help save elena in some way then i’ll consider him a hero. until then he’s just fucking obsessed.
there’s nothing heroic about that really.
but if you must slap a label on him, call him elena’s hero. since that’s pretty much all he ever does and imo why he will never be good enough

Anonymous asked: Fail: Fangirls losing their minds over the prospect of Damon dying. "OMG MY BABY IS IN PAIN! LORD HAVE MERCY. I AM DONE WITH LIFE IF THEY KILL HIM"
1) He deserves to be in misery for all the shit he's done to everyone else. Fair's fair.
2) You're an idiot if you think they'll really kill one of the trio. Have you not been watching this show at all? Ian Somerhalder is the highest-paid cast member.
3) This is probably a good thing for you. This "pain" they put him through will probably just serve as another stupid catalyst for everyone to forgive and pity him. Then all will be well in the world!
^^
In a sick and twisted way, It’s all Bonnies fault that Jenna is dead.
Think about it, If she would have let Alaric go with her, then maybe they would have gotten to Jenna faster and she wouldn’t be dead.
I know my logic is irrelevant. I just wanted to blame someone.
CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING AN IDIOT.
